Zydeco

Zydeco or earlier know as Swap Pop/Rock is mainly played by two instruments.
The accordion and the frottoir also know as a wash board. (metal vest seen below)

This music is from a mix of cultures coming together to what is known as Cajun.
If in the French Quarter head on over to Krazy Corner to check out Zydeco music.
Thursday nights you can head on over to Rock 'n' Bowl to enjoy the music from Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band while you bowl.

Clifton Chenier is who termed Zydeco music and made it popular with the song Les Haricots Sont Pas Sales” (“The Beans Are Unsalted”).


While on the trip we never saw a true Zydeco band we did see a band using a frontier. Their music was more Irish folk but fun to see the metal vest used.
